If you're reading this... just wanna say a Big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to YOU!!!!
Just wanna thank God for you because you have conceived me and given birth to me 21 years ago and showering your love to me for the past 21 years. I know this sounds mushy and girly but I don't and i'm going to say that it's important to let you know that I LOVE YOU!
My mum is the best cook in the world! She can fight with my popo (her mum) for that. Everytime when I come back home, she will always cook for me and make sure that I'm comfortable at home! When I back in Sg again, she will still call me over the phone and ask me whether I want to buy hawaiian pants or not. And tell you a secret... SHE STARTED THE HAWAIIAN PANTS TREND!!! (I totally got her genes!) She called me up last sunday to check whether I want 2 extra new hawaiian pants and of course I said yes.
Thank you mummy!! (i always call her mee..... short form for mummy)
I have not been celebrating my Dad and Mum's birthday for the pass 9 years :( Cos there birthdays always clash with my academic time table. I need to do something about it!!
Honour thy parents!! and count your bleassing because of them!!
3 papers down and 2 more to go. Will not comment much on the papers since they have quite a high hematocrit percentage. Haha..
God bless those who are still clinging on to Him for exams!
Man... why am I so free to blog about this when I'm supposed to study?
STUDY!!!!!!

Pharmacy Year 2 Sem 2 Exam Preparation
Onto my 2nd day of mugging in library. So far, productivity has been acceptable... But the risk of dosing off on your chair with your mouth wide open is high...
My exam schedule...
27/04/2009 (Mon) PR3107 PHARMACY PRACTICE II (did badly for CAs for this module :( Hope to buck up for this one!)
28/04/2009 (Tue) PR2105 PHARMACEUTICAL MICROBIOLOGY (too small cannot see) LAJ2202 JAPANESE 3 (メチャメチャ難しいと思うよ!!!!)
Please pray for me for the above papers :) Hoping to see a breakthrough in my results. Though current circumstances might not seem to be favorable from the eyes of a mortal, I will still labor for the greater good!
Can't wait for the exams to end!
But at least after my last paper, there's something I can look forward to! And 4 day's worth of holiday :P of which, one day includes an unexpected visit from Yasu!
Time is really tight even after exams.... How I wish time dilation works here!

嬉しいね!
Room draw results: I'm staying at E712 with Kok Pun next year!! Although E7 is the second highest floor in KE, I prefer E7 to E8 because E8 is a bit high up and secluded!!
Anyways, very happy now :) cause just now during Japanese Presentation, Geraldine and I were voted the best presenters for our Japanese Project! And the thing is we only started preparing yesterday night at 9pm! Praise the Lord!! Thank you Zichun and Patrick for praying before we went for the presentation! :D
AHhh!!! My first Japanese certificate in my life!!!!!!

My New Found 友達
Recently I got to know a friend who came from Kobe, Japan!! Well, for some reason, I was ecstatic! Cos he's the very first Japanese that I got comfortable speaking to (in half Japanese and half English, either way broken :S) His name is Yasu Hiro (康弘) and he's a year 6 medicine student in Kobe University!
Last Saturday, a few of my medicine friends gave him a short tour in Singapore. Although my Microbiology and Pharmacology notes were "tempting" me not to since I have 2 CAs going on the following monday and wednesday, I went ahead!
We went trekking at this beautiful bridge that is actually built based on a mathematical equation called the at Mount Faber. I felt like a tourist once again after 8 years of stay in Singapore!
Along the way, I chatted with him. Oh man, I must say that the joy of speaking Japanese language that I have been studying for the past 1 and a half years to a native Japanese without the fear of being laughed at is simply wonderful! I can finally apply what I have studied! I feel so blessed!
After the trek we had lunch over at Vivocity. Then off we went to the Singapore Museum after much discussion.
At night we had Lerk Thai and I think we laughed more than we ate :S
Having been stuck in University for the past few months (except for Sunday to attend church), such outing is rare and with Yasu's presence, it made this trip possible. Thank God for his presence :D He really made my day!
This is an interesting comic that I found out while googling Pharmacology and it provoked me into thinking deeper...
Some times drugs work because we believe that they will, assuming that they take the correct drug. Simple things like taking drugs requires faith.
And God says "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. (Matthew 17:20) " As seen in the photo. They are so tiny! Yet, when mustard seed germinates, it will grow into a humongous tree like this!!
Isn't it amazing? It's important to hold on to what you believe in because you are what you believe in.
For now, even as I pray to God, I believe that I will do will do well in my coming Pharmacy Practice II, Pharmacology and Microbiology CAs and finally my finals!! Faith has to be translated into action as well and hence, mug Louis!! MUG!!
Good Friday is coming! What does this day mean to you?

Japanese 日本語の勉強
Why do I study Japanese? どして日本語を勉強する? Well, to be frank, I have no direct answer to that. Somehow, I just like that language. I've been exposed to Japanese cultural products as early as when I was a young kid. I have learned how to sing Japanese songs before I can understand the lyrics.
I guess it's the expressiveness that the Japanese Language allowed that attracted me. It could amplify my feelings :D
How do I apply my Japanese Language in life? どうやってぼくの生活に日本語を使う? At least in my cell group, the "Japaneseness" that I exude could break the ice really easily.
I will try as much as I could, to speak to my sister in Japanese! Cos she's the only one at home that understands Japanese afterall.
In my hall, will try to speak to my Japanese-studying friends!! and sometimes to irritate my non-Japanese speaking friends also!! heeheehee.
So far not a lot of Japanese friends leh :( Oh well, they will come soon :D
Till what level do I intend to study Japanese? 何階日本語を勉強するつもり? Hmm... Enough for me to read and understand the entire Japanese Bible, able to communicate my feelings in Japanese and even share the gospel in Japanese? That would be awesome!!!
I think I might need a JLPT2 for that? Not sure yet.... see how far it goes.
But surely, I know that it is going to be very very very useful one day! :)
すべて今勉強してる皆さんに神様の恵みを!

Life goes on
Seems that time has passed rather quickly.... Yesterday my grandma was cremated and the funeral is over. I was sad that I wasn't there to bid my final farewell to her. It could be a blessing in disguise because I heard from both of my sisters that there were heavy wailing.
Over here, my emotions were sometimes diluted by my busy life. Just now was reading my sister's blog, and that there was a tinge of sorrow and gloom.
Life has to move on....
Well for a start, let me tell you a bit more about my life in NUS Pharmacy! Yups, that's me in my microbiology lab. I like microbiology lab :) Although it's one of the most stressful lab sessions ever, I get to culture bacteria and fungi!! Last tuesday was my microB test and I think I might have forgotten certain steps here and there... Pray that my bacteria will be obedient and grow properly so that when I come back this Friday, they will be happily swimming in their liquid inoculation broth or spreading on agar (assuming that they are motile).
There were some hiccups here and there in the KEWOC (King Edward VII Orientation Committee) that I'm heading. Although I might complain sometimes, I am happy that this year the people that I have recruited along with Hui Ning and Adrian are a bunch of fantastic people. I hope to get to know them much better :)
Ok... Now time to go back to mugging for Pharmacy Practice II CA3m, which requires memorisation of 24 drugs. (Every CA has 24 drugs each, I've been through 2, this is the 3rd one)
Speaking of mugging,
This design is COOL!! It will appear on the mug that I will be buying in support of my pharmacy rag (an annual NUS float parade).
Don't play play, cos I do drugs!!
